You almost never hear from me. It's been two years since my last journal submission. But I've gone through a lot these last couple years.
I entered college and nearly killed myself going through the CORE design program and it all paid off because I got through the portfolio review and I made it into the Interior Design Program.
I'm really glad I kept up with my work because I'm really enjoying the program. This year, I've made new friends, gotten more involved around campus, and already gone through a lot.
I joined a club on campus called "Smile Ninjas" which is something really cool. Basically, it's this huge group of people that commit random acts of kindness around campus. From smiling to strangers on the sidewalk, paying for the person behind you in line at the dining center, or giving a genuine compliment. I just really think that groups like this can make someone's day, or potentially save lives.
I went to an SCA Event, which is a Medieval Reenactment Event. Everyone there was so family oriented and happy to be there. Even teenagers, who I assumed would be miserable there being with their 'stupid family,' seemed to be enjoying themselves. I got to see little kids running around playing make believe, and an adorable little girl in a pretty little dress, holding out her arm, say, "Here, cut me off at the elbow!" to her friend. I met a really great guy there that I really get along with and who makes me laugh. He seems like a really genuine person and I'm really excited to see him again!
But alas, life is not perfect... Last week, I found out that one of my closest family members passed on. Kaissie, my puppy, my "fluffy butt," and my joy, passed away. A couple days before, I had sent her a letter telling her how much I loved her and how I wanted her to get better because my mom said she had been coughing a lot. I told her that I wanted her to get better because I wanted to see her when I got home from school, and a couple days later she passed at home, a happy dog, knowing how much her family loved her. She's now in front of the house, under her perch in the front window, waiting for us to get home from our days' adventures. I miss her so much..
School is keeping me busy, and I'm really enjoying my classes. I've got great people in my life that I've been keeping in contact with and that I love dearly.
Just a long over-due update.
